@mdidris4414 Why??

Well I think it’s a technicality. In regards to the boat people, they deliberately avoided the correct procedure to force themselves in. On paper, they’re technically not illegal due to being unprocessed, yet they’re in the country when they’re not supposed to be. Why do we avoid criticism of that?? Why have procedures at all if they’re ignored. It undermines those that did follow the rules.

@SamMase Yeah, I get that some people just don’t want migration full stop. I’m not against genuine asylum seekers, international students or those coming to fit a certain role. But I have to admit, people just arriving on boats who don’t fit into those categories, irritate me.

@Ryan18181 I think on a technicality they’re not illegal, yet they’re essentially forcing their way in without being processed first. It’s illegal to emigrate here without the Home Office giving the green light, so basically a loophole exists for them. Genuine question, are some asylum seekers allowed in whilst their applications are being processed?? Or does the process have to be completed before they’re supposed to be on UK soil?? I’m just wondering how many that have crossed the channel, have actually attempted to apply and follow the correct procedure. Also, is it literally impossible for someone in France to gain access to the asylum forms whilst there??

@MIEJ4 I’m genuinely curious. Could an asylum seeker in France, have the means to apply for asylum in the UK?? Or is the only solution essentially forcing your way in via a beach landing?? Are all asylum seekers arriving here via channel crossing in dinghy’s??

You do realise that “illegal” immigrants are still a thing. People can claim asylum falsely whilst wanting to be here for economic reasons.

Basically, an illegal migrant just has to claim they’re in danger, then the illegal migration rules become void and they’re accepted as an asylum seeker. Which grants them the right to stay in the UK. How do you prove someone who has no documentation is actually not in danger in their homeland??

@takeAstabzzz Yet using historical events like the British Empire, isn’t a form of deflection??
