Absilutely. When you give a dog a job to do and they do it well, they go into a deep depression. I gave my show dog the job of watching his little brother, he had phantom tail from a bad docking, so the breeder took him home with her to have the vet look at it and I brought his little sister home. My show dog didn't see her take him. He thought he failed his job and lost the baby. He took one sniff of his sister and said nope, not my puppy. He crated himself, shut the doir and wouldn't come out, wouldn't eat. I told the breeder I had to come get the baby. As soon as we pulled in her driveway, he must have smelled his brother and got all happy & jumped all over the place. He found the puppy and everything was fine. He raised the puppy, taught him to pee iutside, hiw to cock his leg. It was so fun to watch him be big brother. 😊
