@Ronell Hilliard... If June 19, 1865 was the day Black people were freed from slavery. Why did slavery continue in Kentucky and Delaware until December of 1965 when the 13th Amendment was finalized?

@cadencenation4600 ... Nope... Kentucky and Delaware legally had slavery until December of 1865. The emancipation proclamation did not free slaves in Union states. This is the problem with this holiday, it’s rewriting history to the point, you don’t even know the story of the end of slavery. What an insult to those historic events.
