So you're saying I shouldn't need an ID to buy a firearm. Got it.

@therrydicule Georgia offers a free voter ID... But I don't expect you to actually know what you're talking about.
2
@RockChick63174 Who doesn't have one?
2
@dalegreer3095 Yeah... It's just SO scary to think that when you willingly show up to a government building to do something, you might have to identify who you are.
2
Like how Alabama and Georgia offer a free voter ID?
1
Even Alabama and Georgia offer a free voter ID. Why doesn't your state?
1
@ruthcavanagh1043 No, you are wrong. Because the third requirement for a free voter ID listed on the Alabama Secretary of State website is... "Must not have any valid form of photo ID accepted at the polls" Do basic research instead of spreading misinformation.
1
@ruthcavanagh1043 You can vote with a credit card in Florida... Or a public assistance ID. Or a Student ID. Or a Veterans health card, like many homeless people have. Or... they can just vote and sign a provisional ballot. And the vote will be counted once the signature and individual can be verified. Stop spreading misinformation. You clearly do not pride yourself on truth and facts.
1
@ruthcavanagh1043 "from what I have been told by others"... See, this is how you are spreading misinformation. You are parroting what other people say. You do not favor truth or facts. If you did, you would simply do your own research. All of this information is available online, on government websites. But you don't even bother to look before you make incorrect claims.
1
@neilbiggs1353 What state? Be specific so people can fact check you. Generic claims are typically just misinformation.
1
@neilbiggs1353 Stop guessing and stop spreading misinformation. If you do not have all the information, do not repeat things. Why is that so difficult for you people?
1
@neilbiggs1353 So you're upset about a hypothetical situation that your mind has imagined? That's not good.
1
According to Ballotpedia, 16 states currently don't require an ID when you show up to vote. So much for extraordinarily rare...
1
So the people with full time jobs, where a form of ID is required when filing their I-9 with their employer, will be affected by voter ID laws?
1
@therrydicule You think this is about minorities? So you think minorities are incapable of providing IDs for themselves? Stop being a bigot, it's disgusting.
1
I know your are probably just lost in your imagination, making up nonsense. But, you do know that you need an ID to buy a gun, right?
1
As someone that uses an ID everyday, one that is not a driver's license, I can assure you that you are completely and totally incorrect.
1
@dominikzinke4493 I explain it pretty clearly in my comment as to why you are obviously lying. You told me an experience that is a lie.
1
But then you would complain that it's difficult to go get your picture taken for the registration. You just want to complain.
1
And when you show up to vote, how do we ensure you are the person that registered? If only there was a way for all of us to identify ourselves.
1
@baugh3162 True. So that's all I should need to exercise my right to bear arms too... right?
1
Even the most impoverished people in this country have an ID. Fun fact, an ID is required for social welfare programs.
1
So there is no age requirement for voting?
1
Minorities have IDs and are fully capable of providing an ID for themselves. Stop being a bigot. Stop thinking less of minorities. It's disgusting.
1
So you're saying we shouldn't need an ID to vote or buy a gun?
1
@Myrrhkuri What if we just treat guns and voting with the same laws? ID, registration, etc.
1
To say it another way is "you may NOT vote if you cannot prove citizenship." That's constitutional.
1
Alabama offers a free voter ID... Details of how to obtain one are available on the Alabama Secretary of State website. Stop spreading misinformation.
1
Cool story. So how do we ensure the people voting are the same people that registered? If only there was some type of identifying document for us to have...
1
@LegendMkr7 People do barely turn out to vote once. In 2020, 66% eligible voters turned out. Meaning there was 75 million more votes available. Votes that can be casted without the actual individual ever knowing they voted. MAGA will do anything to win. Why give them more opportunity by decreasing the security of elections?
1
You need an ID to buy a gun, so you need one to vote. Is that better?
1
Or maybe you can just use the government issued ID you use for everything else in your life that requires identification.
1
@l337j0nes That's not the issue. The issue is there are currently 16 states that do not require an ID on the day you show up to vote (ballotpedia). Meaning there is not an identification check to ensure you match the registration.
1
@l337j0nes MAGA will do anything to win the election. Why do you want to make it easier for them by making it less secure?
1
You mean like the law already requires?
1
What ridiculous claim are you trying to make?
1
Good luck with that. IDs now contain a barcode for governments to scan. A fake ID might work at the local convenient store, not with the government.
1
Yes, in 16 states according to ballotpedia.
1
Oh cool. Another day for banks to be closed while regular working people still have to show up. That's a great idea!
1
@JimJim-ul1eg Suggestion. Pay attention to how many people still work on the upcoming Memorial Day, also a National Holiday.
1
@JimJim-ul1eg You're right. It's people like you that will be off work, that want to go do things after you spend 10 minutes of your day voting.
1
Wow... A 30 second google search took me to the Vote Texas website where it explains the Reasonable Impediment Declaration. How lazy are you?
1
@Lily-wp8ol Why do you think you are intellectually lazy? Why do you think you chose to write a comment in the amount of time it would take to research your question?
1
Go to a gun store without an ID... See if they will let you exercise your right to bear arms without an ID.
