This notion that unvaccinated people are contributing to transmission more than vaccinated people is BS. It’s a purely partisan narrative used to point fingers. Being vaccinated does not prevent you from contracting the virus, replicating it and spreading it asymptomatically. It reads as follows, “94.1% efficacy of the mRNA-1273 vaccine for the prevention of symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection as compared with placebo.” This is the efficacy data widely quoted. And if you notice, it prevents “symptomatic” infection. The purpose of the vaccine is to prevent people from getting sick and dying, which it does really well. However, the result is vaccinated people are more likely to have asymptomatic infections. The vaccines job is to create asymptomatic people, that would other wise get sick and possibly die. It does not prevent asymptomatic infection and transmission. Vaccinated people can still transmit the virus. This is why the CDC is recommending masks again, even for vaccinated people.

@uselesscause6128 Well if you mostly agree with this train of thought. You will also understand that an unvaccinated person, who is infected, is more likely to get sick. When you are sick, your viral load is at its highest and you are most likely to transmit. Sick people don’t leave the house, sick people don’t go to work. Vaccinated people with asymptomatic infection go into public. So once again, unvaccinated people are no more responsible than vaccinated people.

You have young great nephews that need protecting? There are much more concerning issues for children’s mortality than covid. The CDC has reported for 2020, 28,171 deaths from all causes for 0-14 year olds. Only 134 of them were due to covid. Children are not at risk. Trust the science...

@uselesscause6128 I’m actually not “vaccine adverse”. Vaccines are a wonderful thing. And I think everyone should go consult their doctor about getting one. However, I cannot stand the misinformation being spread by vaccinated people. This whole notion of unvaccinated spreading the virus at a higher rate is purely partisan finger pointing. Being vaccinated does not prevent infection. If you are vaccinated and inhale SARS-CoV-2, you are infected. Vaccines just prevent symptomatic infection. Stop the partisan BS. “If you choose not to get vaccinated you will get sick. That is not an option nor up for debate” No. Once again. Remember a year ago the concern of asymptomatic transmission without a vaccine being available? 40% of unvaccinated people will only have an asymptomatic infection, according to the CDC. See, this is another example of your partisan BS. Stop it.

@uselesscause6128 If we established vaccinated people are just as liable to asymptomatically spread the virus. Why do you keep insisting on this “increased amount of contagion” amongst unvaccinated? I’ve provided data that states a vaccine only prevents symptomatic infection. Can you provide vaccine efficacy data that asymptomatic infection is reduced, to support your claim? You have yet to provide any objective facts, with sources, to support your claim. P.S. I likely won’t get sick if I get infected, I’ve been vaccinated. As I stated, I’m not “vaccine adverse” as you assume I am.

@Blandge Read your source again. Do you notice the language used? Words such as “suggest” or “may indicated” are used. These are not words of certainty. This is also directly from the CDC website, under Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations, updated Jun 27, 2021. Evidence demonstrates that the authorized COVID-19 vaccines are both efficacious and effective against symptomatic, laboratory-confirmed COVID-19, including severe forms of the disease. In addition, a growing body of evidence suggests that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines also reduce asymptomatic infection and transmission. Substantial reductions in SARS-CoV-2 infections (both symptomatic and asymptomatic) will reduce overall levels of disease, and therefore, viral transmission in the United States. However, investigations are ongoing to assess further the risk of transmission from fully vaccinated persons with breakthrough infections. Notice two things. First, the efficacy data of the vaccine uses the word “demonstrates” rather than “may suggest”. This is a word of certainty. Second, notice the last sentence. Investigations are on going for transmission by vaccinated people. So in fact, it is you that needs to look things up before suggesting they are facts. What you’re arguing, is not a fact. Now, if people take my argument as fact, then vaccinated people will just wear a mask. Problem solved. And if I’m wrong, what’s the harm? However, if people take what you’re suggesting as fact, people can die if you are wrong. See the difference now?
