@jonathanbond8279 ... We’re talking about scholars. Stay focused. Don’t default so quickly to the tribal trope.
2
@ceestwirre2353 ... You’ll be shocked how many times the word democracy is mentioned in the constitution when you read it for the first time... zero times.
2
Indeed. You don’t have to be a scholar. Just a tribal democrat.
1
@ashroskell ... So it surprises you that scholars don’t call the GOP fascist because, the scholars actually know the definition of the word.
1
@annalieff-saxby568 ... Yet. Here you are, in a very tribal and biased YouTube channel. Being in Europe, gives you zero advantage of historical knowledge. We both must read to learn of the past. However, your view of the US is filtered through the lens of individuals, such as David. Both of us must receive history second hand. Only one of us must receive current American affairs second hand, which is you. You are far from an impartial observer.
1
@joelbusald6416 ... You seem confused by the definition of firsthand. Here is the definition for you, directly from Merriam-Webster. Firsthand - adj. - obtained by, coming from, or being direct personal observation or experience Now, how would someone not in the US gain direct personal observation or experience of the US? That’s right, they don’t. However, I’m glad we could expand your vocabulary together.
1
@joelbusald6416 ... Yeah. Global observation. Students don’t need to go on field trips or study abroad to gain a better understanding of the world around them. They can just watch YouTube and understand everything... You’re brilliant!
1
@joelbusald6416 ... First hand information is from actually living in the country, experiencing events, interacting with other citizens. Information from news sources is second hand information. News sources such as Fox or CNN are still showing you events through someone else’s perspective. Someone else chooses what to show you or tell you. Clearly you are failing to grasp this concept.
1
@joelbusald6416 ... I should leave my mom’s basement and go experience the world firsthand? Well, at least we agree that someone living in a different country, can’t experience the US firsthand, because they are in a different country. I’m glad you finally understood the concept.
1
@joelbusald6416 ... Feel free to explain how I don’t understand my own argument. It might work better then making baseless claims, because you’re butt hurt.
1
@joelbusald6416 ... You’re missing the concept of the experience of residing in a country. Full emersion. Would you say you fully understand the daily life of an Ethiopian because, you watched a National Geographic doc? No. You wouldn’t. Stop with this foolish argument.
1
@joelbusald6416 ... That’s wonderful that you know about Korea. Now, would you say someone that’s lived in Seoul for 35 years would have a better understanding of contemporary issues in Korea? Stop being ridiculous, don’t let your identity protective cognition get the best of you.
1
I see your memory doesn’t extend further than four years. How convenient!
1
Adolf got into power by losing an election? Maybe one day you’ll stop talking about Trump... maybe
1
@DiaExMachina ... Umm... is it a bad time to mention Adolf won the plurality in the 1933 election and the previous two elections in 1932? But keep changing history to make your delusional narrative work!
1
@andrewkruse7899 ... Ahh let me guess. You’re going to argue the false equivalency of the beer hall putsch to the Capitol riot. This should be entertainingly tribal.
1
@NewBeginnings413 ... Would it be better if I made generic baseless claims that tickle your confirmation bias?
1
@NewBeginnings413 ... Aww. Why did you post a reply, then delete it? Guess someone learned how to use google.
1
I guess you didn’t get the memo. But... Trump lost the election.
1
@jonathanperry8331 ... Oh I understand the reference. Chancellor Palpatine became emperor to thunderous applause. And you’re pretending Trump is the same while disregarding the fact he was voted out of office. So the joke only works in your delusional imagination.
1
@jonathanperry8331 ... Why so delusional?
1
@laurendaryani4893 ... I just hope we can spend tax dollars on a multi year FBI investigation of partisan narratives about the election. I’m sure you hope that happens too, otherwise you’d be a hypocrite.
1
@laurendaryani4893 ... Is it a bad time democrats made it a partisan issue first in 2016? Yet, here we are four years later and all the roles are reversed. Amazingly hypocritical. Good job!
1
@laurendaryani4893 ... “It” is referring to the loss of an election, followed by a delusional reaction and failure to accept the results. Democrats did it in 2016. Republicans did it in 2020. Congratulations! You’re exactly the same as a Republican, just a mirror image.
1
@laurendaryani4893 ... It’s a simple pattern. Winners of elections do not want the election to be investigated. Losers of elections do. Regardless of which political party wins, elections should be reviewed the same way. The same politicians that supported tax dollars spent on a multi year investigation into 2016, condemn any auditing of 2020 and, vice versa for their political counterparts. This is hypocritical. You’re failing to view this topic objectively. Instead, you’re viewing the topic subjectively through your ideological bias. Congratulations again. You’ve now achieved tribalism.
