Each state has the right to decide how they will nominate their electors. Most states give all their electors to the winner of their state’s popular vote. CA or NY could easily change their laws and give their electors to the winner of the national popular vote. Why doesn’t one single state do this, if the national popular vote is what really matters?

@772364327rhdhqwag ... oh man! If you think republicans are racist... you should read a history book and learned about the southern democrats that governed the south from the civil war to the civil rights movement... Until republicans took over the south.

@blueisacolor8747 ... oh thanks! I’ve been studying to impress you! I’m glad to hear you agree that the electoral college is just an excuse and only a problem when republicans win the election. Since states have always had this ability to nominate electors based on the national popular vote, and they never have.

Yes! This way an absolute majority is nearly mathematically impossible. It’s wonderful selecting winners based on a plurality. Then a majority of the country can be in dissent of their leaders.

@aerosoul12345 ... thanks. I’m glad that’s worked for 70 years... what system did you use before that?... and I think I’ll favor our 231 year old system established in the constitution.

Aww. You keep up with American politics? Curious what it’s like to be part of a real country?

It would be funny to see Texas go to Biden... and it would be hilarious to see California go to Trump right after. Democrats would literally shit a chicken.
