Why? Are they southern democrats in support of a Jim Crow south?

Oh nice. So she probably heard Trump say. "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,"

Yes! They should apply that view to abortion. Don’t they realize it’s the only way for women to avoid having children? Since all women randomly become pregnant through no decision of their own.

@Richard_Nickerson ... ahh yes. The parties “switched” pre civil rights. I guess that means FDR was really a republican. Or do you just want to selectively choose the convenient moments in history for the parties to be “switched”?
1
@Richard_Nickerson ... you understand the civil rights movement is a result of republicans? MLK was a republican. The political shift in the south, from democrat to republican, was a result of support for civil rights. The south was dominated by democrats from the reconstruction era until the civil rights era. Yet the shift away from a segregated Jim Crow south, also includes the shift away from the democrat party in the south. There was no “switching” of the parties. You simply don’t want your tribe to be associated with their own history. And just remember, known white supremacist, Richard Spencer, openly supported Biden during the election. But you should continue to ignorantly pretend that bigots like Spencer only support republicans

@Richard_Nickerson ... so Robert Byrd, a long time democrat senator from WV, who argued against civil rights legislation. Served for 51 years for the democrat party, until his death in 2010. His funeral was attended by fellow democrats Biden and Obama. And don’t forget Byrd’s history as a memeber of the KKK. See, the party’s never “switched”. The democrats that were anti civil rights, are the same democrats now. Biden and Obama happily served along side him in the senate, in the same party, at the same time.
1
@Richard_Nickerson ... he was a member of Congress for 51 years, until his death. How would the parties have switched, if the same individual, with the same ideas, in the same party, was still serving 11 years ago for that party? Sorry bud, there was not a “switch” no matter how hard you want that narrative to work. And don’t forget, our current democrat president, sponsored (not just supported but sponsored) a crime bill in the 90s that lead to the disproportionate incarceration of people of color.

@Richard_Nickerson ... oh? I’m wrong? Robert Byrd was not a Democrat Senator? He was not a member of the kkk? He did not serve in the senate until his death in 2010? Biden didn’t attend his funeral? Biden didn’t sponsor the crime bill? Actually, those are all facts. Try using google some time.

@Richard_Nickerson ... Since you need a reminder about your own argument. You argued the republican and Democrat party “switched”. And I just gave numerous examples of how the Democrat party is the same party from 60 years ago. Including a senator that served during the time span where you claim the party’s switched. Sorry your narrative didn’t work out.
1
@Richard_Nickerson ... I’m not sure how you fail to understand the shift in the south’s politics from democrat to republican post civil rights is a result of support for civil rights. MLK was a republican. The civil rights movement was a republican movement. Hence, as civil rights passed in southern states, it was a result of this shift towards the Republican Party. This is why I mention Robert Byrd, a democrat, that argued against the civil rights movement.

Why? You talk about him more than they do.

Yeah. It’s much more patriotic and logical to burn the item that symbolizes you’re ability to burn said item...

Yeah. It’s too bad the media gaslighted the American populous. If they had only promoted Trump’s April 1st address, recommending facial coverings. Instead, the media was too concerned about making the orange man bad. Imagine how many lives could’ve been saved, if Trump supporters actually received this information.
