So you’d quit because someone expects you to show up somewhere. You literally won’t leave your home when someone is willing to pay you to leave. How wild.

@hdudidi The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its American Time Use Survey. It showed that one-third of Americans worked from home in 2022, up from a quarter, or 25%, in 2019. The survey also found that Americans working full time from home worked 2.5 hours less a day than Americans at the office.

Stanford’s Institute for Economic Policy and Research states fully remote work is associated with 10% to 20% lower productivity than fully in-person work.

@keithrfield Yeah. It’s weird. It’s almost like the fact I’m stating doesn’t change from comment to comment.
1
@keithrfield Oh, I’m sorry this fact upsets you.
1
@keithrfield You’re so upset, that you’ve continued to reply about how frequently this fact was stated. No need to pretend you’re not upset, when you clearly are.
1
@keithrfield People who are not upset, don’t write an entire paragraph about what’s upsetting them, as you just did. Well done.

Yes. Chastise middle management. Then speak ill of CEOs. Say how you want power within the laborers. Then when I call you a communist, pretend like I’m crazy. Sound good?

Yes. Your employment does benefit your employer. That’s why they pay you.
1
Yes, that’s correct. Stanford’s Institute for Economic Policy and Research states that fully remote work is associated with 10% to 20% lower productivity than fully in-person work.

@whowherewhatwhywen That’s adorable. Unfortunately that’s not how time works. There’s a reason many contractors in construction work six days a week. Because they get paid for each job they complete. People on salary working in an office argue what you are arguing. That’s the real difference.

@whowherewhatwhywen Would you prefer the example of the free lance computer coder that gets paid per job, then writes code more than four days a week? I used the example of construction workers because we can all easily see them working on Saturdays.

Humans behave differently when they know they are being watched. It’s a pretty basic and well known fact about humans.
