  1. Everything you said about "near-expiration" stores goes 10X for the USA. They're in smaller towns, they're very popular and have been for decades, the foods are cheaper because they're near expiration, etc. Frankly they're great.

  2. All of these problems and more were huge in the US, Europe, England, etc. It's why we brought in food regulations. Read a little history!

  3.  @牧場里尼  Exactly! Mark Twain wrote about fake olive oil something like 150 years ago. US Presidents have gotten into office due to their campaigning in their earlier careers for food regulations. Read some history! There is nothing special about China or Chinese people in this aspect. People, any and all people, will find ways to cheat the system and eventually there have to be regulations.
