Ukraine used Soviet made jet drones laced with explosives. Russian anti-aircraft missiles hit them but these things have big inertia so they fell near the airfield . Russians should learn their lesson and increase protection of their airfields.

  3. Styxhexenhammer666, you are wrong here. I am German. Germany and EU are paying the main price for sanctions. US simply does not have any meaningful economic ties with Russia. We had to went along with sanctions because of: 1. We have limited sovereignty after WW2; 2. Merkel stupidity. The latest round of sanctions is simply unacceptable. It can potentially ruin our economy (price of energy from Russia is a vital component of our competitive edge). I do not think that new sanctions are good for America and Trump either. Look what happened with Obama presidency. Without normalizing relations with Russia Trump should expect the same fate for his administration. I think Trump is clever enough to grasp that. This bill was passed by establishment republicans and establishment dems to box Trump. Let's see what happens.

  26. I think you are wrong here the deal with China (Kim is their boy) is different. We are getting out of the region and NK denuclearizes. A win-win deal. We stop wasting trillions on military bases there and they get rid of our bases and missiles near China and Russia border, but it will be incredibly difficult to push it through here, because both corrupt parties will fight tooth and nail against it.

  32. I served there and I think that Trump is 100% right. The truth is that our presence there is a dangerous atavism from crazy regime change policy of Obama administration. It's an accident waiting to happen. Nobody there would accept a Kudirsh satelet in an Arab majority region. For Turkey (a NATO member by the way) it's a vital matter of national security, for Iran and Russia this matter is also very important.   37. We also violated the treaty. Placing launchers of anti-ballistic missiles in Europe that can be used to launch cruise missiles is a flagrant violation. It was done partly to force Russians to leave the treaty first and be the bad guys. Both sides wanted to get out, but wanted the other to be the first one to quit, to bear the brunt of criticism from Europeans.

  38. Russians are just paying lip service to it to placate Europeans. In fact after US left ABM treaty INF treaty is far more advantageous to US than to Russia. Putin said as much in 2007. He said that INF treaty no longer served Russian interests. Both sides violated INF treaty and wanted to get out. US mostly wants to leave this treaty because of China development of such missiles, not because of Russia.

Full Ukrainian withdrawal from the regions that are included in Russian constitution; 2. Recognition and acceptance from Ukraine that these regions are Russian; 3. Acceptance of Ukraine's neutral status. Russians categorically rejected any freeze of the conflict Korea-style. These conditions can get only tougher by the time.
