Bakhmut was a slaughter which was entirely Zelenskyy folly as Stalingrad was entirely Hitler's folly. Zelenskyy just for media hype wasted on average 500 troops daily (total tally was at least 51 000 KIA) in Bakhmut meat grinder even when all escape routes came under Russian fire control and this debacle turned into a sheer slaughter of Ukrainian troops. But obsessed with Bakhmut Zelenskyy didn't stop even at that. Since May 20 when Russians took Bakhmut General Syrsky (Zelenskyy minion) launched wave after wave of suicidal counterattacks failing to retake a single village near Bakhmut (parts of villages Andriivka and Kleshiivka are still controlled by Russians and it's driving Zelenskyy nuts) while wasting thousands upon thousands of hapless Ukrainian conscripts. This ongoing obsessive lunacy that makes zero military sense is simply astounding. With this lunatic behavior Zelenskyy regime will likely crumble by the end of the year.

According to Ukrainian sources Russians have overwhelming advantage in artillery 1:9 on this front. 85% of Ukrainian soldiers are killed even without seeing the enemy. Ukrainian command has to resort to mass summary executions (some bodies are used for organ harvesting) to prevent unauthorized retreat or surrender. There is no military sense to hold on to it, but due to political reasons Ukraine is constantly throwing poorly trained additional reserves into this meatgrinder. Zelenskyy regime banned marking of soldiers' graves with Ukrainian flags . Endless forests of flags at cemeteries across Ukraine proved to be too demoralizing and scary for those still desperately trying to escape forced conscription (which is tantamount to a certain death warrant). It's all reminiscent of suicidal Hitler's tactics in 1945.

Zelenskyy is catching and forced conscripting often at gunpoint mostly people with zero motivation to die for him, who never served in the army, often disabled. When such people are in the trenches, it means that the front can collapse at any moment. According to WaPo of all places Russians have 1:6 advantage in artillery (you can imagine their real advantage). 85% of Ukrainian soldiers are killed even without seeing an enemy. Trump administration is rapidly running out of time. Nobody can say when exactly Ukrainian army will collapse, but judging by a horrendous level of attrition it's a matter of several months at most.
