  23. Ukraine has very few jets left and no safe airfields. Poland sent dozens of modernized MIG 29s to Ukraine. Almost all were lost. F-16s won't be any better. Lockheed still has a very large stake in the F-16 program because it continues to offer modernized variants of the class for export at times for hundreds of millions of dollars per airframe, so I don't think that Zelenskyy regime that is effectively on its last legs will last till getting its first F-16. This conflict, for example, already demolished Patriot reputation among potential buyers. They had certain suspicions after lackluster Patriot performance in SA, but Ukraine debacle was a final straw. This unmitigated disaster happened with modernized Patriot with modernized, cutting-edge missiles. Something similar could happen with F-16, but after Patriot folly it's unlikely that it will get to Ukraine.
