  1. Zelenskyy is under pressure to show some results of the offensive that started on June 4. So far it it was one fat failure with hundreds of lost tanks and IFVs and tens of thousands killed Ukrainian soldiers. According to New York Times (hardly Putin's fans), Ukraine's counteroffensive suffered heavy losses, with 20% of Western tanks and vehicles lost in the first two weeks. Zaluzhny who is also notorious for his ruthless and callous attitude to Ukrainian casualties nevertheless understands that at this rate Ukraine will burn through all its reserves by September and the front will simply collapse.
