  1. Lyman isn't a strategic transport hub. There is nothing strategic about this town with population before the war of roughly 20 000. Russians took it only in May this year. For purely political reasons Zelenskyy wasted his last reserves on this venture trying to capture it by September 30 deadline. No Russian troops were encircled in and around the town.
