  1. Tim Marshall is as clueless as he always is. Ukraine never could win a war with a nuclear superpower. This war is existential for Russia. So for Russia all options including a nuclear one have always been on the table. Wars of attrition always result in a sudden collapse. Zelenskyy own military intelligence chief Budanov said that Ukraine had only 4-5 months left before a total collapse.

  2.  @daveturner8002  You are delusional. Vietnam was far away. Mexico in a military alliance with China on US doorstep can be an equivalent. No US government would tolerate it for a minute. It doesn't matter what you think which is existential threat to Russia, it matters what Russians think. You still don't get what a war of attrition is and why Ukraine lost it hands down.
