  36. I served in Poland and I was on a training mission in Ukraine. Ukraine's economy is a basket case. Its manufacturing is ruined and it lost all its traditional markets. People are leaving in droves. Unlike Iraq It doesn't have rich oil or gas fields that could help to rebuild economy. All it has are pervasive corruption and incompetent, authoritarian regime. It's not an asset in its current pitiful state, but a liability. Putin is a rational, smart politician and he knows this as well as anybody. So this war hysteria is completely pointless and it's just an excuse to start a new Cold War with Russia.
