Russia will probably liquidate Ukrainian state which wasn't Putin's initial plan, but it will eventually work out for Russia even better than what was planned. This Putin gesture (he knew perfectly well that it would be rejected by Zelenskyy regime) aims at winning hearts and minds of future Russian citizens. Ukraine already lost most trained and motivated soldiers along with almost all hardware it had before the war (to understand the scale of losses it had 1 990 tanks, 1 212 IFVs, 1 112 heavy artillery systems, 354 multiple rocket launchers). Its army is a shadow of its former self at the beginning of the war. It accounts for catastrophic increase in military casualties along with inadequate erratic Zelenskyy and his nutty tactic of constantly throwing poorly trained (most don't have any training whatsoever; lucky ones have 5-week training at best. So poor fellows are just half-baked cannon fodder) Ukrainian reserves into a meat grinder and holding on to disadvantageous positions until it's too late. Zelensky banned marking of soldiers’ graves with Ukrainian flags (many bodies are deliberately left where they perished without a burial, it helps Zelenskyy not to pay even a meagre compensation to the families of the "missed in action"). Endless forests of flags at cemeteries across Ukraine proved to be too scary and demoralizing for those still desperately trying to escape forced conscription and bribe their way out of Zelenskyy dictatorship. Mass summary executions for attempted surrender or unauthorized retreat just cause further demoralization and despair. Bakhmut is just the last instance of this insane tactic.

Sweden and Finland were US satellites. Both countries were Hitler's Germany satellites before that (Finland de jure, Sweden de facto). It's nothing new for Russians. If nukes are placed there Russians will act accordingly.

@SelfProclaimedEmperor As usual Zelenskyy left several hundreds of his wounded and frostbitten troops in encirclement in Soledar. Inadequate erratic Zelenskyy continues to pursue his nutty tactic of constantly throwing poorly trained (most don't have any training whatsoever; lucky ones have 5-week training at best. So poor fellows are just half-baked cannon fodder) Ukrainian reserves into a meat grinder and holding on to disadvantageous positions until it's too late. Even Zelenskyy's ambassador in London had to admit: "We’re losing people left and right." Erratic Zelenskyy is the gift that keeps giving for the Russians. Mass summary executions for attempted surrender or unauthorized retreat just cause further demoralization and despair. Bakhmut is just the last instance of this insane tactic. Russians have 1:6 advantage in artillery according to WaPo of all places. WSJ is quoting Ukrainian commander in Bakhmut as saying: “So far body count "exchange rate” is strongly in favor of the Russians. If we carry on like this, we will rapidly burn through all our conscription resources.”

@A random person Zelenskyy/Poroshenko regime has been deliberately shelling and terrorizing civilians in Donbass for 8 years.

They are fed up with a corrupt Zelenskyy regime. Grain to all intents and purposes is stolen from Ukrainian farmers by the regime and then dumped on EU market to line up Zelenskyy and his minions pockets.

In reality the front is about to collapse. Ukraine already lost most trained and motivated soldiers along with almost all hardware it had before the war plus hundreds of tanks and IFVs it got from Eastern Europe. Zelenskyy strategy is reduced to rounding up civilians often at gunpoint and throwing them into a meat grinder in a futile attempt to stabilize the front. It's now abundantly clear that Zelenskyy lied about a real Ukrainian mobilization potential. Even these drastic measures clearly cannot save him. Ukraine got dozens of polish MiG 29s as "spare parts", dozens of SU 25s from other countries in Eastern Europe, dozens of choppers . Almost everything was lost. It's just a waste of money. The war is lost by Ukraine. This tank delivery announcement is just a transparent attempt to deflect accusations in an inevitable future blame game.

If bipartisan Washington consensus keeps insisting on reinstituting the Cold War with Russia, another Cuban missile crisis or something similar is inevitable. NATO military infrastructure near Russian border is an obvious provocation. It's not about Ukraine at all. "Expert" doesn't get it.

Inaptitude and incompetence of Biden regime are simply pathetic. Now it's clear why Afghanistan is called a graveyard of empires. Another tomb is ready in this graveyard...

It's an open secret that if Russians parked their submarine base in any banana republic near our shores, they would simply demolish our national security for good. With new Russian hypersonic missiles, the balance of power is clear to any sane military expert. These are not negotiations. Russians already dictated the terms of the treaty. Knowing full well that any treaty with the US is worthless, Russians are just giving US an opportunity to try to convince them with its actions that this time US will stick to the treaty. NATO military infrastructure near its borders is as acceptable to Russia as Russian nuclear missiles or submarine base in Cuba to the US. Putin gives Biden administration a face-saving way to leave areas of Eastern Europe close to Russian border, it should grasp at it. It's not about Ukraine at all (with its ruined economy it's not an asset, but a liability). These are basic facts. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones…

@odoaceroftheneoromanempire7178 You are still in a state of denial.

It was the last hope of Biden administration. Zelenskyy regime is on its last legs and it will unlikely survive till November 2024. This fact is driving handlers of semiconscious Biden nuts. They can do all sorts of crazy things in this desperate state. WSJ is describing Zelenskyy mobilization in this way: "Mr. Zelensky in January introduced even harsher punishment for desertion and disobedience. A disabled person was drafted in western Ukraine and pronounced fit for service despite having no hands. Another died on the front lines within a month of mobilization after 10 days of training, according to his relatives." Zelenskyy is officially catching and forced conscripting even disabled (not only army recruiters, but also police, border police, secret police and even municipal authorities are officially hunting for hapless cannon fodder leaving desperate people no chance to escape Zelenskyy goons) . When such people are in the trenches let alone forced to go on the offensive, it's a recipe for disaster. They simply refuse to fight and surrender at the first opportunity.

These "military documents" are BS that Ukrainians fed to Pentagon to get more money for this lost war. Basically to line up their pockets before the inevitable outcome . The problem is that Austin took this BS completely seriously. It just shows again an appalling incompetence and corruption of Biden administration.
