Electric vehicles are cold weather challenged, hot weather challenged, longevity challenged, emergency refill challenged, long distance travel challenged, damaging to the environment to produce on a large scale, highly explosive/flammable beyond their gasoline powered counterparts, and still pollute considering the energy comes from the same sources as it always has.

@ricky4673 you mean the charging that our infrastructure cannot support? Regardless, the energy doesn’t come from any cleaner of a source. Furthermore, the amount of natural resources consumed for the production of a single unit is far more than an internal combustion based auto. Lithium mining and cobalt mining are damaging to the environment, as well.

@thatonekerbal you missed the part where the same methods are used to produce the energy that it consumes. Furthermore, lithium mining is far more destructive to our environment. Thirdly, tires on an ev emit more pollution than on gas vehicles, Fourth, disposal of ev batteries is far more destructive to the environment than with gas vehicles. Finally, fires in evs caused by accidents or shorted batteries pollute the environment exponentially more, and are far more dangerous than with gas vehicles.

@jeffsaxton716 it’s common knowledge among scientifically literate. That’s why batteries are rated with cranking amps and “cold cranking amps”.
