Having kids is just so expensive now, and sending them to college is just a major expense that many kids don’t want to deal with now. Last thing kids want is to still struggle with employment after college and dealing with those loans too.

@rc8929 one person isn’t gonna change a system. And end of the day, people have a job they have to worry about too and last thing needed is these politics getting in the way. Not everyone is expected to be a “social justice” warrior.

And yet people still want big trucks and SUVs even when they don’t have a need for them, and cost more than minivans. Just saying. Minivans are declining because of the “stigma” and people falling in love with 3 row crossovers.

The answer is simple. People have a stigma about minivan owners that prospective buyers are fearful of for some stupid reason, and they gravitate to these 3 row crossovers like the grand highlander, traverse, and pilot. Those crossovers and stigma are why people don’t buy minivans, and it’s sad because anyone who’s driven a minivan and a 3 row crossover knows the minivan destroys when it comes to hauling people and their stuff. Nothing beats a minivan when it comes to hauling people and their stuff except an extended full size SUV like a suburban, grand wagoneer L, or Expedition L. However, those 3 cars cost 40-60% more than a minivan, are truck-based, and much harder to live with day to day in terms of parking and cost of ownership. That’s the answer.

I think the problem I have with college nowadays is not only is it expensive, but it’s not as valued nowadays as it used to be. That’s why kids go to college and even then, they still struggle to get a good paying job that not only pays more than jobs that don’t require college degrees or the trades, but pays enough so you can pay off loans, living expenses, and still have some disposable income to get by. And even if they do go to college, employers want 2+ years of experience for “entry level” jobs and don’t bother to understand the commitment that is college, and still only pay what other paths that don’t require college pay.

Its stuff like this that makes people want to flee their country, and “banding together to fight for their nation” is a lot easier said than done. That said, this is a situation that someone can have to seek asylum, and most illegal immigtation isn’t done from these folks.

“We are not criminals” - proceed to commit a crime of crossing into the U.S. illegally, use taxpayer money to live their life, and then send that taxpayer money out of the country. Like seriously? It’s funny how people think it’s a god-given right to enter any country, especially the U.S., illegally.

@ and less hauling and storage capability because they don’t have that deep floor behind the third row and a third row that folds into that well. I could sit in an odyssey third row for a 1000 mile road trip and have no issue. If I did that in a highlander, I’d probably need to see a chiropractor or doctor after because I’ll have severe leg and back issues, if I can even make it past 100 miles. Minivans have as much space behind the third row as a CRV/Rav4/Tucson has behind its second row lol

@broimagine2794 Michelle Obama is a former First Lady for over 8 years and one of the most beloeved and well-respected people in the U.S. that even people overseas know. You’re comparing apples and oranges there lol. A normal person like us won’t change anything compared to a former First Lady and probably one of the most powerful women in the world at one point. Yeah….

They’d die trying to fight for civil rights in those dictator-run countries they’re fleeing so they see illegal crossing as a better option than dying.
