@JoshuaIsTheMessiah it isn’t (was unaware of that) but at the same time, do you have any idea what some of these folks coming from a country like Venezuela endured? We complain about 5% inflation, try dealing with 1,000%+ inflation and see how you like it. Or the constant shortages and starvation. That’s where the morality vs legality issue is. Illegal immigration is a problem, but it’s merely a side effect to our messed up system. My family came here legally and took years, but they’d have appreciated a faster process as would anyone, and maybe we need to fix that. Get rid of the things that’s encouraging and incentivizing people to come here illegally. Illegal immigration makes me mad, but when you have things in place that’s encouraging people down that path, it’ll happen That’s my take.

@ only thing is mass deportation won’t stop people from coming back and trying, just saying. It’ll get people out, but won’t stop people from coming and trying unless we fix that system and process. Especially if they’re fleeing super dire situations where a chance at escape is better than staying in that country, especially if someone tries fleeing North Korea.

@michaelschaffran3948 the irony behind that is that your likely European ancestors who came to the U.S. years ago didn’t have such a thing as passports and what not then, and then just slaughtered all the native Americans. Then again, we Americans like to be hypocrites so it’s expected.

@ Laws can be flawed though. Laws also can have been created for a purpose that might no longer exist. And laws can be changed, they’re not set in stone. Illegal immigration is merely a glitch in the system that needs to be fixed so those bugs/glitches don’t occur. Idk if mass deportation is gonna fix anything since people will continue trying anyways as long as our system is broken.

@michaelschaffran3948 "If that leader makes one error in judgement. North Korea will be gone". Well he hasn't, and that hasn't happened for 50+ years. So good luck standing up to him knowing that and banking on them to be gone. Also as for asylum seekers, the Immigration and Nationality Act has no thing in place specifying what country you have to be from. SO technically yes, you are allowed from any country to seek asylum here if you meet that criteria. Also, if you deport people in the masses, what's to stop them from coming back? Have you ever thought about stopping people from trying too? Maybe thinking long-term instead of short-term would help too.

@ I mean if you think separating families with kids that are born here and U.S. citizens is correct, ok then. That’s another issue that arises. Also, good luck getting all governors on board too.

@BMD2024 It can be if the rules and laws in place are flawed, or we have a system in place that sucks. Why else do people come in illegally? It's because they can't wait for years, as was the case for many families like mine that immigrated legally over 30 years ago. If you shorten time taken, it helps a ton, foe example.

@if it’s that easy with an executive order, why wasn’t it done with “build a wall”? Well it isn’t that easy, and getting that support will be tough, if not impossible. Also, if you’re so worried about where funds and money are being used going overseas, spending billions on this deportation isn’t really gonna do anything versus spending billions to fix the current U.S. issues instead. They’re gonna continue trying to come in anyways, just saying.

@GNMi79 How many countries in North America besides the U.S. and Canada are developed countries? I don’t think there’s any other. These people are not just like us having a normal life at home living and can just hop on a computer and apply and declare possessions and what not. So why not shorten times so people don’t resort to these avenues? They’re resorting to these avenues because the system is a mess. Just saying. My family might’ve been able to wait 10 years, but idk if someone from Venezuela can if you’ve seen what’s going on there. Illegal immigtation is a side effect to a bigger issue, which is our process, backlog, wait times, and all that. You can fix that side effect, but that cause will only keep coming back and back and continue so, as has happened over the years. I guess that’s what America likes to do, never address the cause.

@ if they were completely flawless, you wouldn’t see illegal immigration on this level and scale. The fact you do shows how flawed it is, and how there’s a glitch and bugs in the system. Illegal inmugrarion is merely bugs/glitch in a system. The process, rules, and laws are the code running that has flaws.

These comments are really funny. Mass deportation might fix the issue immediately and shrink the number now. But it won’t stop future people from trying to come here illegally, and that’s a problem too. And that’s what has to be solved too. Getting rid of benefits provided to illegals would discourage them, fixing the messed up immigration system and shortening the time it takes also helps. A lot of illegal immigrants coming here come from war torn countries or economic disasters facing hyperinflation, famine, and gang violence. They don’t have 7-10 years to wait if their money could be worthless in a matter of months or could be caught in gang violence. Also, for the folks saying “stay and fight for change in your country and fight for freedoms to make it better”, try that in North Korea, Venezuela, or Haiti and see where that gets you, if you can even make it to a year and wait. In short, mass deportation is a short term solution, but not a long-term fix when people are still gonna try if the process and system for legal immigration isn’t fixed.
