  1. Many credit card companies just write it off and use tax loopholes correct? They also make enough in fees on everyone that covers these situations.

  4.  @hvaball150  I do think some states have laws where surviving spouse owes medical bills, not the kids. There must be an SOL for these creditors. What happens if the kids get the money and then suit is brought? We have to pay back the estate? I could see this happening to me. We sell their house and the creditors want the cash. Or are they only entitled to cash already in estate? I’ve never heard of issue being forced to sell the house to cover parents debt.
