  9. They didn't reseal it. I can tell, this is Honda original RTV, I just dis a valve cover gasket and that's the same exact RTV color and material. Also Honda is super stingy with RTV, they put barely enough, that's why they leak all over. The one I did was 2104 with 87K miles and leaking. Also HondaBond is crap, I used Toyota black sealant, FIPG, instead

  14. Having done multiple timing chains on Toyota engines I can tell you the belt is way easier, and whole lot less messy.

  20. It all evens out. Some jobs are gravy pays 2 hours and you're done in 1-1.5 and pocket the time and some you take a bit of hit. People need to chill and enjoy life. In ky job, not tech, some days I am watching YouTube and others I a don't have time to pee 😂

The 7 hours is too much, heck I am a DIY and did it in 3, all the damn engine engine mount in the way, it's easier to tale the left mount if you loosen the dogbone torque thing in the engine bay. But, if you follow the book is because they take the outer tie Rod end, pull the axle to get to the ball joint, the engine mount, and then do the job and add alignment.   30. I had great success with this brand Ray using. It is messy with a drill, lot of stuff get slugged everywhere. You have to cocer almost the front half of the car and put on old pants

  31. I believe they are needed even if the owner does oil changes regularly. They are a must on any car I buy without a good baseline history. I recommend it to all family members and friends and clients I service their cars. It doesn't hurt to clean it the inside of the engine every now and then. I like to do it on my cars once a year. I use EPR for the flush. I do like and have used MMO also which is great. I am not a shop, just a guy in a garage LOL, I charge cost of product, oil and filter cost, usually $60-$80 for the products. Plus 1 hour time.

  34. Theses engines, 2.5 L, are know for this problem. Usually they burn the oil but this is extreme case.

  35. With todays car and truck prices the owner will better off putting new frame on it. I mean this is a 350 heavy duty, it's not cheap to replace even with a used one.

  38. Sucks, 1 hour job escalating to an engine replacement. I wish there was a mobile machinist that can come over and get it out, they do have tools and ways you wouldn't. On small out of the car parts I run it to the machine shop, usually $40, but you can't run an engine 😊

  42. I am glad to see you use crimp connection. I am tired of everyone and their brother looking down in this process. Sure, soldering is great but not everything can be soldered. A good crimp work is just fine. Only thing I would have done differently is plug the new plug into the O2 sensore before even trying to splice it in. Just to make sure it fits, looks sometimes mean nothing, seen then look the same but will not plug correctly

  50. To answer your question, I can do spark plugs in any Toyota V6 without removing the intake. Its faster and pretty much the same steps minus pulling the intake, yes, wipers and motor, cowl, etc come off. But in would not charge $390 as others do. But, 90% of shops go by book rate regardless if it takes 1 or 6 hours.
