I believe they are needed even if the owner does oil changes regularly. They are a must on any car I buy without a good baseline history. I recommend it to all family members and friends and clients I service their cars. It doesn't hurt to clean it the inside of the engine every now and then. I like to do it on my cars once a year. I use EPR for the flush. I do like and have used MMO also which is great. I am not a shop, just a guy in a garage LOL, I charge cost of product, oil and filter cost, usually $60-$80 for the products. Plus 1 hour time.
