I love Toyota. Consistency, reliability, and simplicity. Doesn't matter if you are working on an 03 or 2023 you don't get lost.

As Scotty says, they aren't giving them away. I love those but even a 15 year old one still over $7000. Quality matters

Yeah, my 4 cylinder Camry is a joy. My V6 Camry is a challenge.
65
100% total DIY buzz kill, I know I got 2 Camrys and work on my friends Hondas more than family Toyotas 😂
48
I see a great aftermarket opportunity for replacement cooling lines from plastic to aluminum ones, custom made. $$$$.

You know Ahmed, it's the leader who sets the tone of the shop. You make it family culture and everyone else falls in-line with that. You're a good man. I owe you another visit soon.

This is much like the Toyota Cross. It's for a specific group of people, small family, young couple, or older couple without kids and need ability to carry few things comfortably. It's an upgrade from a Toyota but not as expensive as a full Lexus SUV. I for one wouldn't mind either the Cross or the UX now that I don't need a bigger SUV, even the RAV 4 is too much for my uses. On the value side, fully loaded Cross is almost $35K and the US 200 F Sport is about $1000 more, so it would make more sense to get the Lexus than the Cross.

Couple of thongs Ahmad. Get the microphone closer, hard to hear you without cranking it way. I have a 2009 XLE with the 2GR-FE engine, it's a beast. Not a thing wrong with ot. I do the maintainence myself for years including suspension, brakes, engine work. But, the power steering return line seems to slightly drip but no lose of fluid. I love this thing even if the engine is a bitch to work on 😂 . Fixed the intermediate shaft with grease too, sprayed it with a very tiny nozzle 😂. Other than that, no leaks, squeak, or oild use or drip.

Reminds me of my sister-in-law, she takes her car to the dealer for an oil change and leaves $700-$900 lighter. They change transmission fluid on he Hyundai with every oil change for real, plus a ton of unnecessary or not due stuff. Had a long talk with her and since she keeps all the receipts, she now can points and says nope, you're done that.
14
The Venza is one of my favorite. I love it. It's one of the least appreciated cars from Toyota by customs and most beat on by reviewers. To me it's a Camry Wagen with Lexus Touch, Storage room is a novelty, few things to carry, need more space Highlander lol
14
This is a very simple engine to work on, I know. It looks intimidating but really after you get into it it goes really quick
13
I did the procedures on my 03 2.4 L 2AZ-FE without pulling the timing cover. BIG MISTAKE. No matter how hard and careful I was the timing was off and when I started it it sounded like a sewing machine also the new gear was damaged and had to get a new one. I did go through the lock procedure. I redid the job and did the timing chain, guides, dears, sprockets, and tensioner. The chain was also stretched by 1.5 links. I did replace the guides because they fell apart a soon as i took them out.
13
I really like it. It's what I want for a small family hauler. I have the Camry XLE for a cruiser, this would be great for when I need space. Don't care how slow, really not a fast driver. Problem though, no one has it on any lot. All I see are dozens of RAV 4.
9
@derekcapitano5257 nope, they loved him there but with the growth of his channel and viewers he decided to move on to the next stage with his own shop. He maintain a good relationship with the dealership.

I drove the 500 miles from Kansas city to Chicago 😂. I needed him to diagnose my Camry. Took the family and we had a good weekend.
8
2 seconds equal 20 minutes in an accident. I know, everything went in slow motion as I was flying in the air off my motorcycles. I see a lot of people lowering their Camry. I guess they need to Re calibrate both systems
8
This is the kind of car I would love as a DIY project. Seriously, nothing super major bad with it. If the transmission does go out then yeah, that will be an expense but man, it's clean. For you Ahmed, should be no trouble at all getting it back perfect.
8
From what I see it has typical BMW issues, reliability, and quality 😂
7
Make an appointment. I drove from Kansas City MO 8 hours drive. But I had an appointment a week before.
7
It depends. What's considered normal varies wildly. But, if you drive city, lots of stop and go, short trips then 3000 miles is good. AMD mentioned that couple of years ago.
7
I had to rewind few clips to see and understand. Really doesn't look very hard. Of course I don't have a lift and will be under the car, that's a challenge by itself 😂. Anyway, the last time I was at your shop you pointed out a small wetness on the rack, so I will use this video to replace it.
6
Absolutely, I visited his shop right after he opened, he will take the time and look at everything and talk to you.
6
Now that explain the really nice cars I see in auction with Bio-hazard tag on them. 😂
6
I worked on the family Hondas, I can tell you the family Toyotas are way easier and less finky than Honda.
6
So that's why I don't have a problem with the engine even if the air filter box cover never ever fit tight, it before the MAF. I can't tell you how many times I read on car groups someone who replaced $2000 worth of stuff to fix a problem with P0420 and never got it fixed. You got to find out why something happened not throw parts at the car.
6
Darn it. I was loading the parts canon already 😂😂. Yeah, even a dirty MAF sensor, 5 minutes fix, can throw the A/F ratio off and the codes will light up the dash. Diagnosis is essential
6
Absolutely. However, this engine is so easy to work on. I have done deep dives like that in the 2AZ, after the first one you kinda know.
6
I carry a jump pack in my car all the time, it's small rechargeable pack. Really nice, it even jumped started the Hybrid. It's better than cables and lot less dangerous.
5
@rightlanehog3151 True, but for my wife and me, I don't mind. The kids got their own cars.
5
The biggest complaint I hear from "Automotive Experts" about this is they are old design and dated 😂. Hell yeah, and they run forever.
5
I am getting the Xtool D8. The price is right for the functions I need.
5
That truck in the video costs more than my first house I bought in 1985. 😂 I agree about the price killed it. Honestly, these beasts are best back in the old country where the techs aren't running on flat rate and parts are cheaper, 😂, you know what I mean Ahmed.
5
I never buy an extended warranty for a Toyota used or new. However, I did buy one from the KIA dealer when I bought a 2018 KIA Forte. It was my first experience with KIA so I wanted a bit more protection. They wanted $2400 for it. I told them I will take my chances. They immediately dropped the price to $475. OK in can do that.
5
Absolutely. My policy on some work is, if I am going to replace a part and there are other parts that show their age then replace them. I replaced a radiator on a Camry, might as well do the thermostat and hoses for example. Why do the job twice. Now, tell me how to take or pull a heater core out of a 2003 Camry that is stuck so bad it feels like it's been JB welded in 25 years ago. 😂. 1 hour job is turning into a nightmare 😂. Life of a DIY.
4
The videos are great, camera work is great. Now, smarty, do that on a 2GR-FE LOL, Even worse, on a 2GR-FE on a Sienna, Yikes.
4
The Corolla XRS is a blast. My sister-in-law has a 2006 manual. I believe it has the 2ZZ in there though. Love to drive it when I get it over to change the oil. For Some reason it takes me all weekend to do an oil and filter change 😂😂😂😂
4
For some I think it's market demands it, especially in poorer countries. For others it's idiot journalist who demand crap lile super cars. However, I don't think they ship Toyota badges to them. They do have to meet Toyota's standards.
4
😂 those filter drain caps NEVER come off. After 11 years of ownership I still can't take ot off. I even put it in a vice without any luck.
4
For now I agree. Give it a year or two and there will be plenty of DIY videos out. These cars are selling like hot cakes someone will figure I can make a ton of money on YouTube doing DIY services on them.
4
Do it, make it a vacation, Chicago has plenty of things to do. Drop off the car, rent another, come back few days later. My family and I did that but over the weekend, made an appointment with him and drove from Kansas City. We had a blast in Chicago and got my car looked at too.
4
Now that's a damn good rant. 😂. Love it.
4
I was hoping you give a quick if not full review. I love this car. Thanks Ethan for bring it over.
4
Down the rabbit hole we go 😂. This looks like what Sarah-n-Tune crazy cleaning and detailing. Worth it though.
3
Had one 1988 Tuarus. 170,000 miles only issue was 1 injector went bad. Gave it a way to a needy family after that. Probably still going
3
@seriousfaith Besides, Ahmed is super super nice guy, you would love chatting with him.
3
Steps 1. Get dressed 2. Drive to the shop or dealer 3. Drop off the car 4. Go home and relax 5. Pockup the car a day later 😂😂😂 Just kidding, I would totally do this myself.
3
Seats squeak, turn up the radio volume. 😂. My brother bought a 2103 with 84k miles after he totaled his 2007 with 269k miles. The sad thing is I just finished replacing the headlights on the old one. The second sad thing, he already has the new van looking like a computer shop on wheels 😂. What a mess.
3
Ehm, Ah, don't confuse the hybrid coolant plug with transmission drain plug LOL. Don't ask me how I know. LOL. Yes I did, thought it was like my "Normal" Camry then all of this light pink fluid comes gushing out. I am thinking, Well it's supposed to be pink but it way too thin. Looked in the engine bay and I can see the coolant draining fast. Oh well, put it back in and looked for the actual transmission fluid drain plug. 600 Volts, that is a lot of juice.
3
Actually Scotty was here for a while and made a positive comment when Ahmed did the review of the Tundra a year ago I believe. He watches
3
I can vouch for the brakes will stop the car when the Hybrid system go out. My Hybrid battery and system went to total shut down on the highway and what happens is the car will automatically slow itself down without you braking then you can apply the brakes to come to a complete stop. It's a slow process, it doesn't just stop like a toy when the battery dies, but more gradual. Now, I need to bleed the brake fluid, how different, I am sure it is, from normal Camry? I did many brake bleeds for Totoyas, Hondas, Nissans but none Hybrid. From What i have seen you need Techstream to do that. I have Techstream V15 and a Cable, been playing around with it.
