You are totally right. I left in 2008 and haven’t been back. Im now 62 and survive on a small military pension of 1500 dollars per month. I like to drink, smoke and ‘socialize’ and have lived long term in Thailand, Azerbaijan, Moscow, Taiwan and now I’m touring Africa (currently Ethiopia) and have been fine on the money I have. Indeed I save half most months to cover flights, any medical and accom in more expensive countries, etc. But tbh I have always been pleasantly pleased by how little most people need to earn to have a great life away from the Rip Off West. Get out folks, you’re being rolled in UK 😊

@Porkypies6m Sound advice my friend. If you gotta do it, then rent it. Happily I’m too old to bother with all that now. You only get a bucket full and I’ve used all mine. The downfall of many an independent traveller.
