@OrlandoDibiskitt if that’s true, then you cannot by any logic accept his current position. So you seem to be contradicting yourself: how can you believe religion is irrational when its product - its culture which derived from its key premise, is somehow rational?

@OrlandoDibiskitt it’s impossible to separate them. And I am specifically referring to the values of Christianity which underpin its culture. He expressly refers to those values in this video. Those values wouldn’t exist without Christianity so he is consuming the product yet criticizing its source. It’s an untenable position for him or anyone else who claims to be like him.

@newglof9558 they’re representative of something YOU seem to find dangerous and seem to hate. A ‘pointy metal stick’ is objectively dangerous. With such a high IQ, I would have thought you’d be able to differentiate between ‘objective’ and ‘subjective’. But then again, I thought Dawkins had conviction and it seems I was wrong on both counts.

@elram2649 the type of Islamic country you describe is no more than about 3-5 out of 50 Islamic countries. Using exceptions to justify a rule is huge indicator of confirmation bias… Bias. And, bias aside, how is what is happening elsewhere, a problem for Dawkins or you for that matter? And if that is a problem from some unknown reason, can I take it that there is nothing wrong with the world anywhere else? Will Dawkins now become a rampant capitalist because of communism in Cuba? He was never going to argue his at out of this one because it was based on an irrational premise to be with and it’s pathetic to see really.
