  1. The plane landed on the runway from the wrong direction, think - driving down a ‘no-entry’. This should be telling as far as panic is concerned as it’s very unusual, even in a crash. And it hit a mound where the radio antenna is located which planes fly over as they land. This structure sends navigation signals that help guide the planes to the runway.

  2. The fact that he felt he had to land the wrong way is very unusual even in a crash, and gives a sense of the panic or catastrophic failures they faced. I haven’t heard anything so far that’s so out of the ordinary that merits the abandonment of protocol.
