@jimmynich4791 I think too are correct although psychopathy and sociopathy are Type A personality disorders. They are not really regarded as mental health conditions. Therefore no insanity defense.

@Lukydada-15 psychopathy is not recognized as ‘mad’. It’s a personality disorder and does not meet the criteria for legally-recognized insanity. For that, one has to show no evidence of avoidance of being caught. However, psychopathy does provide a framework for understanding her actions.

@ButterflyonStone yes I think you are correct on the clustering. Good shout. The dark triad would come under cluster B because that’s where psychopathy (or to give its clinical name, antisocial personality disorder) is grouped. Although the clinical groupings don’t really cover the dark triad as those are three distinct traits rather than a whole personality, and they tend to make psychopaths especially dangerous. The presence of those traits seem to elevate offenders from mere criminals to something like serial killers.
