@xfactor6099 OK, for the stupid. Taiwan sees itself as distinct from the Chinese mainland, with its own constitution and democratically-elected leaders. TSMC is probably the best developed semiconductor player in the market so the US have decided to build TSMC plants in the US at massive cost as they’re worried that Taiwan may fall under Chinese rule which would be a huge disruptor to the market. Meanwhile to also stop China getting ahead in the game the US have also manage to restrict dutch company ASML exporting their photolithography equipment to China which puts China about 5-10 years behind in this race. In respect to that nothing I said in my original comment is wrong. FFS do your own research before thinking you’re clever.
