  3.  @Phil_D_Waller  QT gradually reduces the liquidity you've injected into the market with QE. It normalises interest rates and helps reduce inflation. This is not some new Labour led measure though like Murphy would try and have us believe here. It's been happening since 2022.

  12.  @Soraviel  The rich hide their assets and you don't pay capital gains on your investments until you actually sell them. Capital gains are most definitely taxed though.

  13. Interesting channel, if you bear in mind that Murphy is a salty corbynite with a huge anti labour bias. Also he failed to mention the QT is actually an integral part of QE so saying it's for no good reason is nonsense.

What he didn’t mention though is that QT has been happening since 2022 and it's part of QE, it's supposed to happen to control inflation. So no ( without writing and essay on this ) this is not the cause of the bond sell off that's just occurred and/or the negative UK market sentiment that's happening. And it's not a solution to it either.
