"People think they're going to work their way to those levels of wealth. They're wrong, you can only own your way to that. " Silicon valley would disagree.

Yeah but there was always an entity above them who financed those mills in the first place.

They wealthy won't leave the UK because technically they're not here anyway, they're ghosts on paper. Their finances and assets live in an offshore systems that's so complex it can't be unraveled and it can't be traced back to them. So, how do you even begin to tackle that.

We need to investigate and reform the big 4 accounting firms i.e. Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PwC ( PricewaterhouseCooper ) and KPMG They're the ones who set up these tax systems for the wealthy and hide their assets in this vast offshore banking network. They're the ones who makes billionaires untouchable ghosts. Until that is address then thinking you can tax these peoples assets is just not possible. I mean, the Panama Papers revealed a lot of this but it changed absolutely nothing. It was just another media story that went completely over most peoples heads.

@ruffey1748 You're saying that it's impossible to work your way to wealth though and that's just not true, especially in the tech industries, there are plenty of stories of new wealth being created. Sure investors have been involved and a lot of these companies have been IPO'd but it's created a lot of new wealth along the way.

@ruffey1748 You're saying you can't work your way to wealth though and that's absolutely not true. Plenty of tech company stories of people who've worked and started their own company that's become successful. Plenty of new money entrepreneurs have become billionaires in this industry.

@glowwurm9365 Not using any rule, this guy is saying that it's impossible to work towards wealth and I'm saying he's wrong. There's plenty of new money in the tech industries.

@oldishandwoke-ish1181 I'm not defending the rich at all ( if that's what you're stupidly implying )

@ruffey1748 Plenty of new money in Silicon valley and tech from those that have started companies though.
