  4. How exactly would Trump replicate that in the US? I mean, Putin didn't create the Oligarchy, Yeltsin did with a Voucher privitisation system of sold off state-owned companies that failed badly when a few businessmen bought ( or took ) said vouchers en masses from the hungry. Albeit in a completely different historical context of a starving post socialist state. Putin just cracked down ( read: killed or imprisoned ) the oligarchs who opposed him.

  13. There are rare earth minerals in Ukraine, not a huge amount but they're there. The do however have significant significant natural gas reserves, uranium, Iron ore and several major pipelines ( the most important being the Brotherhood Pipeline for transporting Russian natural gas to Europe ) running straight through.
