  1. The problem is simple, just like the minds behind it all. Picture the media rooms of all these companies, each sitting down to make adverts, each deciding that in order to make their ads "relevant" and show their virtues, that they each come up with the same wonderful idea of pressing in the usual modern tropes of what they think is virtuous. When they ALL do it, each thinking they are ahead of some social curve, the whole business looks grotesque and foolish. None of this happens outside of the west and is actually legislated against in some of the slightly more developed african countries such as the wonderful Nigeria.
