Simon I can see the point of view here but this is inexcusable from your ex-leaderships position that events such as the grooming gangs in the country are allowed to continue due to "sensitive" issues. Let alone the smaller incidents as you've described above in the daily life of the police. I'm sorry to say but public opinion of the police has dropped to a low that resembles the fortunes of the Labour party at the moment. It is very hard to feel anything but derision towards the police when they put paramount importance on policing ordinary folks opinions and unthinking moments, yet allow national disgraced such as rotherham, oxford, etc etc go ahead. Change must come soon for the force and the country as a whole. If it does not eventually the elastic of society will snap and snap hard towards a far right position that will destroy the nation.

@djscoah8037 thanks Simon again I understand your issues. I see the same in the armed forces (I've just retired after 23 years yesterday as it happens). We employ the gobshites also here who are "out to change the narrative", not all by any means but the leadership again is at fault. The forces ethos is changing to give more and more grift to political issues instead of hiring, training, and encouraging the best that the forces can employ...ie those with a sense of patriotism, duty, service and sacrifice. Some of the problem is the youth of the UK, today no matter the background they dont feel any of things I listed above apply to them.

Haha why would they do any such thing?? Here in cosy western society the main culprits are free to criticise this society as they wish, say what they wish and receive the support from the lefty idiots for their foolishness. When it all goes wrong for them the society they rubbish welcomes them back and gives them a nice cuddle in the form of social welfare. If they did these things in africa/middle east or wherever they would get no such sympathy I'm sure.

@nicholasmorrill4711 not arguing either way here :) I can feel which way the wind is blowing, polarisation of society too far in either direction is very bad for that society. Douglas Murray and many other conservative thinkers all agree on the point I've made here. I'm as conservative as the next older family man and dont want my sons growing up in this madness world that the far left are creating, neither would I want them existing in a potential far right dominated world.

@nicholasmorrill4711 I'm by no means sitting on any fence in opposing the way things are going. You are right of course about the tories being in for 10 years, 2 things on that however, 1. For much of that period they held a VERY slim majority that was easily and demonstrated many times with brexit..defeated on many occasions to the shame of those resisted the democratic vote. It's very hard to bring change in that environment. The second point being that a country and its social structure/beliefs has a very large and slow turning circle. Change too quickly and you risk a lot. This is why I feel we are hoepfully seeing the end of the woke madness, they tried to change too much, too quickly and resistance built naturally. I'm not sure the conservative party will go far enough in the end but I have to give them crack the whip because there are no other alternatives within reach.

@djscoah8037 Its poisonous indeed. The officer ranks are littered with Nice but Dims who toe the party line and its left (was left) to the NCOs like myself to implement policy, I'm fair certain you had the same dilemmas as you've spoken of here anyway. The best I could do with my guys was tell them that they must do their job but remember they can change things with their vote and by getting their voices heard through their MPs. Anything more than that is trouble and you end up on the pages of the guardian feeding the narrative of what they want.

@nicholasmorrill4711 I absolutely 100% agree on the failing to reduce immigration, they shouldn't promise what they won't achieve and they knew that when they said it. Again it has come down on to matter of numbers in power I think. I'm really not banging any drum for the tories here, but they are the only credible party at the moment to choose from. I dont particularly trust Priti and Boris at all, you only have to see how they issue strong words on the meagre numbers coming on boats across the channel, yet blind siding us with the numbers coming in from countries that wish our society harm, through current LEGAL means. See the history debunked channel for some words on this recently. It comes down to competence and yes that really is a sliding scale as it applies to politicians. For instance I quite liked many of the views put forward by UKIP, at that time giving all things as equal, would I want them in power running the economy, services, industry etc, probably not they had some good people scattered in there but on the whole they were a one issue party like the damned SNP. See how well Scotland is going these days with SNP running the country, they're going to snap and splinter and fail eventually not on the One Issue but with everything else. Competence.

@nicholasmorrill4711 I dont disagree with you on the Tory party completely, there are a lot of good people coming through the party at the moment though and hopefully more power to them as long as they continue to their beliefs. The Labour party are a lost cause, I used to vote for them many years ago like others here when politics was a gentler hobby. A credible and sensible opposition is required to keep the country balanced, I'm just not sure where that will come from, will it be another left leaning social democratic effort or perhaps even a tory breakaway further right of centre party. Who knows. Hopefully the tories will live up their promises in the time they have in the light with a strong majority. That's what's going to be telling.

The media is to blame. Anyone remember the well respected and informative BBC? I barely do myself and I'm well into middle age now. The BBC is loaded with the intelligencia of North London white saviors and other such real life avoidance sections of society in Britain. Its beyond question especially nowadays that the media controls the political direction, agree with them and you get your message across, all the while they fight amongst themselves over who has relevancy. The lapse of the BBC away from the patriotic, informative and investigatively neutral ground has fueled much of today's divisiveness. Their charter is due for review in several years and I would hope that they'll have turned their ship by then and come back on the side of rationality. A cull of the kale sandwich eating, yoghurt knitting types there is long overdue.
