  2. One the final tours of duty i did as a member of the armed forces was to South Sudan in 2018. The christian following, educated, south Sudanese were being ripped apart by the the muslim warlords who stole power. The guys we employed from the refugee camp were a clever bunch many of them professional people such as hospital staff and teachers, the older ones all agreed that they wished the British would come back, they were very distrustful of the Chinese especially.

  3. The stock answer from them generally is that we "held them back" with our colonial oppression. My general answer back is usually along the line of "and you were making such marvellous progress up to that point!"
