I've had similar uncomfortable truth moments in the Forces. They are too long to list but when the indoctrination is so deep and forceful you have to wonder what singular entity is driving it. What I found most concerning was the reactions of peers in these group sessions which ranged from stunned surprise to fully promising harm against me.

It really wouldn't surprise me in the slightest

Perhaps if the public misconceptions about these subjects wasnt so much repeated also? Does the truth only get one opportunity to speak against the mistruths? Going on about his clothing is scraping the criticism barrel also.

@georgehetty7857 what's PC got to do with anything here?

@johnsaunders2109 ha violence indeed mate. Fortunately the same rules on threatening behaviour work for me as much as them.

@georgehetty7857 I could suggest same for you Georgey lad, then you'd have the possibility of saying something funny aye? :) the thread isnt ripping itself to pieces with laughter is it?

@georgehetty7857 it's all context isnt it, like I explained above, if an untruth is repeated over and over again in multiple places then surely Simon retains the ability to explain that untruth no matter how times it takes to get a message across? Especially in these internet days where the hive memory is so short. Maybe some folk visiting havent heard that story? Does he repeat himself? Of course he does I've been here long enough to know that but I see the context as to why its repeated. As I said above does Simon Webb only get one opportunity to address his concerns, but any all multiple others get to repeat their versions constantly? Do you happen to agree with what he says in the piece or are you just a bit bored of him saying the story a lot on Mary Seacole in particular?

@georgehetty7857 I mentioned mary seacole because he has brought it up in this video and previously in several others. I've not seen all his videos but certainly a majority of them some dont interest me as much as others. Aa for him making a more I suppose a more "Polished" production, that may be beyond his capability and his will. I once knew an old fella that made sword scabbards using materials and tools only available to the period folk. He could charge what he liked for them, I said to him "Bill why dont you quit your day job and do this for a living professionally?" He said to me " then that would become my day job and I'd hate doing it then". Maybe Simon feels the same in this manner at his age. The amateurish nature of the presentation and production is something of a draw for me, speaking personally. It has "authenticity" or something for being this way.
