Having complained to John Lewis about this I got 2 replies, neither of which suggested anything was going to be done, the first one read in a standard way, the second was more interesting, it was directly from the groups operations manager, an early 40 soomething lady who I shan't name. She sent a one line response saying "we acknowledge your views" ... nothing more than that. I found this a strange reply indeed and I cant tell if she agrees or disagrees, I'm suspecting she is being facetious and her terse one line email is in some way meant to show me how little she thinks of my complaint. We persevere however and writing to these companies is the only way to show them that this sort of thing is not acceptable.
