  1. The shadow minister struggles to write and think. Science doesn't need to be "representative" of the population. It needs the best people in the field, like any part of society. As long as the everyone has equality of opportunity to be amongst the best then the minister should have little to fear, the statistics should balance themselves nicely to her satisfaction. My experience working in healthcare science is that the minorities are doing more than fine.
