I dont understand the whole pride thing. Hasn't this battle been won for them? They have full equality in the law and as far as I can tell being this way nowadays seems to confer benefits that regular people cannot claim. I have friends who are gay couples and as regular as any straight couple. On the other hand I've also seen just as many of the oppressive, marginalising types which suppress normativity. Surely as I've pointed out to them, they are practicing the very thing that they fought against in the past. Is this yet another example of "past injustices must be solved by injustices in the present".

Must agree. The old battles of the past were won years ago, legal recognition, no barriers to all the same things that regular people enjoy etc etc. Its almost as if all the organisations that fought those battles found they'd won and won themselves out of a job. So they made new grievances instead and doubled down, tripled down, quadrupled down on the old.
