  1. SERCO bears closer investigation, i remember them from my years in the forces. How they got so much purchase in that alone is beyond me, they are incredibly expensive and im sure smaller outfits UK based and owned could do what they do for much cheaper. For instance i remember a set of accomodation flats in the naval base in plymouth, serco were hired to provide and fit the kitchen amenities which only included the following, a washer, a dryer, and a microwave. They were given 12000 per flat for this. This was around 2001. They also supplied tin pot lockers for the old HMS Illustrious, about the size of a small bloke and 2 foot deep. The charge? 400 pounds for the locker, fitting not included. Again in 2002.
