  1. My perspective is one of seeing the effects of "trans" in work colleagues and friends families. It is not a solution for the young nor should they be able to make those decisions so young. If a 35 year old man who wants to do this then I believe they are informed enough in every way to do so. A 16 year old is not informed in the same way and by informed I dont mean via the internet or pamphlets etc. I mean living in the world as an individual in your own self and making an individual choice. So often it seems the decisions are made on the basis of other peoples experiences (these tend to be overwhelmingly positive as people dont often write negatively on a life choice which has gone wrong). In any case the people I have seen affected have not fared well and the disruption within the families extreme and long lasting.
