I served in the forces for 24 years retired from it late last year. The changes I saw especially in the last ten years were chilling. The army in particular has become polluted by ideas that dont belong in anything that might have to face a strong opponent.

@Ram Rod the why is easy! They want to appear "decent" and "doing the right thing" like every single institution the country has. You can picture these discussions round the tables of administration in virtually every institution and company in the UK, all clamouring to show they are decent and doing the right things, when they ALL do it it becomes grotesque and terribly damaging. This is the victory we have had pushed on ourselves...own and better still change what is considered decent and the right thing.
