Ireland is a very "naive" country, we tend to be trusting and friendly, along the same lines as the UK at least. However the UK isnt as naive to "the other" as Ireland is. Allowing in hundreds of thousands of migrants is a "relative" drop in the ocean in the UK. In ireland with a 20th of the population it's a cultural disaster within one generation.

@philipbant657 i agree Philip. Every time I go home to my sleepy rural industry based midlands town it looks more like Bradford in the UK. Are the politicians in Ireland doubling down on the mistakes the UK made? Is the precious EU behind all of this somehow?

It might be a tax haven for the corps but certainly not for the population

@sonnyirish3678 I've heard it said that corps like the irish market becuase it provides a small modern western population with which to test new products. It means a new roll out can be judged as successful before taking a chance on rolling out in much bigger markets eg the UK or Germany. That and the stupidly low tax rates and business rates.

@sonnyirish3678 if there was one place in the world that was going to import that shite it was always going to be Ireland. Such a shame the politicians there couldnt look over the water on both sides and see how damaging it all is.

Trust Ireland the home of my own birth to take a bad idea and utterly double down on it with no regard for the consequences. If you thought politics in the UK was a bit stupid you have seen nothing until you look at them over the water.
