I wonder, as a comparison, what is the birth defect/death rate in the likes of Pakistan? It must surely be higher?

@History Debunked I work in clinical science in the NHS. I see the effects of this every day. Take the assisted conception list for instance, on any given day there will be anything between 20 and 50 names on that list. 80% almost invariably are south Asian names. Cancer rates also are noticeably disproportionate, again approximately 30% of the cancers I see are of South Asian descent. This out of a population with an apparent majority "smith" background. This is also seen with the incidence of Abnormal Haemoglobin Disorders, and a huge disproportionate rate of diabetes. On the other hand if I see an East Asian name, chinese etc it's a very rare thing indeed. I work in a major city hospital so I suppose there's some skewing of the anecdotal data here.

@Spiritual Seeker yes though it can blur somewhat, Indian names tend to stand out from other names in the region.

@Spiritual Seeker no what I'm saying is the opposite. I'm probably not making things clear here.
