Referendum are a waste of time anyway, the Irish had one in the 2004 regarding giving citizenship to newcomers and births from newcomers, the population voter AGAINST doing this by an 80% majority. The constitution was altered to reflect it and thay should have been that. Fast forward to recent years and the Irish government has been handing out citizenship like ciggies in a social club. All through the mechanism of legislation which bypasses the parliament. So in effect they dont care what we vote, they will happily do the bidding of their masters in international finance capitalism anyway.
