Just seen this on the BBC, top of the news for them this is! Because someone clearly trod on what I now call "a landmine" of a person. For nothing more than being caught out for being curious. Landmines need clearing.

Same here despite only from being originally over the water in Ireland. I can't say I've ever felt anything more distressing than the effort of breathing in a breath to answer the question happily. Well we all know that this militant activist is really a landmine in human form. They should be allowed to go off if they want, but with no more furore than a mouses fart in terms of effect.

The other aspect to this of course is the resignation of someone from their livelihood and means of supporting themselves and presumably family. I truly hope that whoever this was, is given the gift of good advice and not to accept this.

@frankspeakmore7104 right indeed. The problem is the poor unsuspecting person that trod on this landmine didn't realise that the landmine knows exactly what it is doing. These ars-wholes lie in wait for people to ask them this, and few other "loaded" questions which are usually asked genuinely and innocently. At which point they pretend they don't know what you are asking before the coup de tat...where you as the unsuspecting person pushes with "no where are you originally from" or some such remark. The bomb then goes off as it has here. The landmine is pleased, it has performed its only useful function perfectly. I genuinely hope that whoever this happened to has the stones to resist this and make a case for entrapment. At least to my mind this is what has happened here.

@stephfoxwell4620 yes they revel in this, yet barely report anything about the Rotherham (and many other) national disgraces. But an old woman from another time steps on a deliberate and provoked landmine and it's FRONT PAGE NEWS. F that lot.

@jesoby yes it appears so now that detail are coming out. However this doesn't remove the motive behind this strange exchange. These landmines will happy go off under poor people as much as royal lady's in waiting.
