Another problem here is this, by widely practicing and advertising this "selection process" the students who take advantage of it have their sense of "victim status" utterly increased. The feel they got there because of some perceived wrong done to them and "someone" should eventually pay for this. Problem comes when many of these fools eventually get into the real world where they double down on their overly fertilised victim status. They are NOT grateful in any way for the inappropriate career boost they receive. They see it as something they would have been denied by society, when actually, if they worked hard they would have seen that there is no legal, or societal reason why they wouldn't have gotten there in the first place. These top universities are breeding legions of victims with an enormous chip on their shoulders with the clout to properly screw things up.
