  2. When I joined the Royal Navy in 1999, towards the end of basic training we had to deliver a 20 minute talk on anything we wanted. Most chose football teams, or famous battles and read from a series of cards in a monotone voice. I'd always been transfixed by Shaws story in the film and read Stantons Book on the USS indianapolis sinking several times. It was a no brainer for me to do this talk especially with being in the Navy! I delivered the talk with a certain swagger and drama which generated a further 30 minute discussion about the elements I'd drawn from the book. I fell asleep during the favourite football team ones I'm afraid 😂😊
