  1. I definitely agree with Bootys reasons for joining up. I was much the same, it was an outlet from a bad situation which would have only gotten worse. I spent 23 years in the RN and hard both hard and great times. The patriotism came some time later.

  4. Spent 5 years in Middlesbrough in my mid youth. Saw more a lot of common sense, saw a lot of utterly bonkers. But it was always fun.
